Lets see... I'm buying a new Hobart Welder this week so options will improve I've decided to go wit a monoshock setup and I'll be making my own seat pan for this tail piece. So I'll have plenty to do in the next week or so. Stay tuned.

By the way, that part I had made in the below post would also work perfectly on any era RD35, RD400, or R5 frame IF you shortened the added height from 1 inch to 1/2 inch (the RD triple tubes are 7 inches tall and the H1's are 6-1/2 inches). You fould then use the front ends from a large range of FZR600's and 400's (and quite a few others I believe)on the RD frames as well as the H1's and H2's.

Added a bushing to make the triple tube match the FZR's shaft. Should get moving now.

Still needs to be welded in in but it's a nice snug fit. Had to be tapped in with a hammer.

I "thought" the posts were the same diameter at the base. Well I ground and hammered out the H1 post tonight and discovered that it has a step down where it went in to the bottom plate. So now it will be small for the FZR plate.

I think at this point I'm just going to go with having the FZR post milled down to suit the bike. It will need to have the 4 steps (2 threaded 2 flush) pushed down by 0.82 inches. Off to the machinist tomorrow. Stay tuned!

The LC RD idea is being shelved for a while. I can't exactly say what caused this. I look at piles of parts, come up with ideas and start off in a direction only to be distracted by other parts and $$ issues and move to something else. I still have all the makings of the LC RD but I only have so many funds. For a time I had to use them for the mods to my DR650. That bike is winding down and in the mean time (for lots of various reasons) I've turned my focus back towards the Kawasaki side of the tracks. Through a series of strange occurrences I'm now on my way to using some of the parts from the Yamaha build (swingarm) and applying them (along with some new acquisitions)o a KH500 framed H2 powered FZR 600/400 suspended street-fighter-ish (probably) build.

Here's a pic of where I am so far... More to follow as things happen.. hones this time :)

I'm having issues at the moment sorting out the triple tree and stem to work on the KH frame but I've got a solution on the way. I'll be pressing out the stem from the H1 and pressing into the FZR bottom triple. Same dia stems at the base so it "should" go right in.

The reason for this is clear at this angle. It would take too much in spacers to make up for the longer FZR stem.

Here's the Swingarm as I had it mounted on my daily rider for a short time. It's a bolt in part at the pivot. Just needed shock tabs welded on and some rearset fabbed. This was tricky as I didn't want to cut or weld on my stocker. The hybrid will be hacked up as necessary.

Scored the remains of a very badly blown LC from a local friend last night. A rod snapped in half and the broken end just sawd it's way around the crankcase. Ouch!

But... it looks like I now have sidecovers, shift forks, a nice clutch and even better... Electrics!! Including a wiring harness! Disassembly has begun. I'll hace pictures shortly. I may also have a crank soon... stay tuned!

It started with some of this... Those are Original bore RD350LC barrels and cases and rods.

And pieces of this.. FZR400 suspension parts...

I'll be just posting the accumulation of parts for a while which will be followed by mock-ups and eventually the full build. I'm not exactly sure what the final product will turn into yet, that's sort of the point.. but I obviously have a few ideas... Please stay tuned... BWAAaaahahahahahah...
